The Long-Cherished Lily (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
This original soundtrack was composed for the surreal horror short film "The Long-Cherished Lily (In Japanese: 悲願ノ花)" directed by Ayako Ebata. Centered around felt piano, the minimalist arrangement supports the film’s pervasive sense of quiet unease and psychological tension.
Rather than emphasizing overt emotion, the music focuses on silence and resonance, aiming to extend awareness into the unseen and unspoken spaces of the film.
He used piano and synthesizer to create an unsettling atmosphere in the film, and the slightly delayed piano tones represent the falling petals of Lycoris.
The film was screened as part of the Ayako Ebata Trilogy program at Cinema Rosa, Ikebukuro, in the summer of 2024.
